Minimize smoking by trimming the wick to 1/4-inch length before lighting and keeping the wax clear of match heads and debris. Make sure you burn your candle for no longer than 4 hours at a time. Extinguish it when it gets to 4 hours, and let it completely cool and set before relighting. Extinguish your candle with a snuffer or by blowing; do not use water.
