Skin Care Tips

Instant Skin Fixes

I have an important event coming up and I want to use a product that will instantly make me look younger and more radiant. Is there a product that can help?

My Fastscription™ collection is formulated to do exactly that — immediately fix your most urgent skin concerns and help to restore your skin with continued use over time. Whether you’re looking to conceal fine lines and wrinkles, visibly fill and plump around the lip and eye area, noticeably de-puff your under-eye bags, create fuller-looking, more sensual lips, or relax expressions of deeper lines, I can address your skin concerns. Please refer to the “Category” section of this website to find the instant skin fixes you need.

Lips & Eyes

Can Dr. Wexler’s products be applied around the eyes and mouth?

Refer to the individual product information for detailed usage instruction and precautions. Those that cannot be applied around the eyes or mouth are clearly marked.

Daily Skin Care Regimen

Do I have to use the products in a particular order?

Daily care is based on four steps: cleanse, exfoliate, restore, moisturize. The MMPi•20™ Skin Regenerating Serum (restore) is almost always applied after the exfoliation process and before moisturizing.

Shaving

Should a man shave before or after the daily skin care routine? How long should he wait?

It depends on which exfoliating system you use. With the Resurfacing Microbrasion System, Step 1 (Resurfacing Cream) should be used prior to shaving to soften the beard and loosen ingrown hairs. Shave and follow with Step 2 (Intensive Hydrator).

However, if you prefer the Exfoliating Glyco Peel System, you should use it in the evening (when not shaving), so that freshly exfoliated skin is not exposed to the 10% glycolic ingredient.

Removing Makeup

I am usually too tired to remove my makeup before I go to sleep. Is it bad if I leave my makeup on all night long?

You should always remove your makeup before you go to bed. Leaving makeup on your skin can cause clogged pores, acne, inflammation and enlarged pores, all of which will make your skin age prematurely. I recommend using my Universal Anti-Aging Cleanser. The creamy cleansing formula removes makeup quickly and easily, and leaves the skin feeling soft, supple and restored.

Side Effects

Is it normal when starting the system or using a specific product to experience dryness, breakouts, red spots, or a pinking of the skin?

Any significant change in your skin care routine can result in transient changes as your skin adjusts. These products have been extensively tested for safety and are not expected to result in adverse skin reactions under “use as directed” conditions.

Visible Results

How soon should I expect to see results?

Clinical results are product-dependant. Refer to your product information for details. Although individual results may vary, clinical testing has shown that, on average, visible results are expected within 4 weeks. Consistent use of the products for longer periods is expected to result in further improvement. However, if you find that the products have not met your needs, I will be happy to accommodate you with my money-back guarantee.

Age Recommendations

Is there an age recommendation for these products, or are they made for both teen and adult skin?

These products were clinically tested with healthy adults, ages 18 and up.

Use With Other Products

Can patients on another skin care regimen prescribed by a dermatologist (like Retin-A) use these products?

I recommend that you consult with your dermatologist.

Can I use just one (or some) of the products in the line with my own skin care regimen?

For best results, I designed these products to be used together in the described routine. However, each of the products was tested individually and can be used with other skin care routines. Please review the details in the product inserts or on the product pages for proper skin care advice.

Pregnant & Nursing Women

Can a pregnant or nursing woman use these products?

Through extensive evaluation and clinical testing, I have taken great care to ensure these products are safe. However, I recommend that you consult your physician prior to using any new products if you are pregnant.
